Jarid joined NWWPA as an Education Specialist in April 2019. He was a high school history teacher for almost a decade and, before that, a newspaper reporter and editor for newspapers in Nebraska and Nevada.
He earned his undergraduate degree in Communications from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, and his Master’s Degree in Education from Chatham University. He is also a HUD-certified housing counselor.
Jarid has lived in the Pittsburgh area since 2008 and currently lives in Murrysville with his wife and two children. Although he is a transplant, he has become a big fan of the Steelers and Penguins, but will continue to root for the Boston Red Sox (sorry, Pirates fans!). One fun fact about him is that he has lived in four time zones.
