De’Shawna McHenry is the Community Engagement Specialist at NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania. She is responsible for the development, cultivation, and continued solidity of strong relationships among a range of community partners. She consistently sources and directs lending opportunities throughout the community and helps establish and develop a pipeline of applicants with the goal of increasing home ownership.

She believes strongly in the cause of cultivating diversity in home ownership to build generational wealth and increase community equality. De’Shawna is a HUD certified Housing Counselor and has completed several trainings to better assist community members and families in learning the home-buying process.

De’Shawna holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Clarion University and a Master of Science and Education from Duquesne University. In her free time, De’Shawna enjoys running various obstacle races, reading novels, and cuddling with her two dogs.
