Government funds are available now to help homeowners and renters struggling to make their housing and utility payments. The best time to start talking about solutions is now. Our housing counselors can help you navigate temporary assistance programs.

For Homeowners

URA Housing Stabilization Program

NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania is partnering with the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh (URA) to distribute mortgage and utility payment assistance for City of Pittsburgh homeowners who have experienced a job or income loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program provides up to $1,000 per month, not to exceed six months, for eligible applicants. Click here for eligibility requirements. 

United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania is processing applications for the URA program on a rolling basis. When completing your application, select NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania as your preferred agency to get matched with us.  


HOW TO APPLY


If United Way determines you are eligible, you will be required to meet with a housing counselor. Please note: We’re currently conducting our housing counseling appointments by phone or video calls only.
 

Penn Hills Covid-19 Housing Stabilization Program

The municipality of Penn Hills is providing mortgage assistance for its residents who have experienced a job or income loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To learn more about the program and eligibility requirements, contact Allegheny Link.
 

For Renters

Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP)

If you have experienced a job loss or income loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic, rental and utility assistance may be available through the Commonwealth’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program. Learn more
